Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency “Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap – MSB”, in cooperation with the Swedish Migration Agency, are going to build tents to receive new refugees upon their first arrival in Sweden.

Sweden is used to help and support the United Nations to build tents in camps for refugees around the world, but because of the huge influx of refugees and the acute shortage of housing, the Swedish government decided to resort to this solution, at least temporarily, to serve as the initial shelter for refugees pending permanent housing.

These tents will be heated and winter ready, and each tent can accommodate five people. MSB will set up 75 tents in the initial phase east of Lund in southern Sweden to house a total of 375 refugees.

Swedish Migration Agency expects the arrival of more than 150,000 refugees until the end of this year, and can now accommodate 35,000 refugees in these tents.
