Malmo police arrested today an 18 years-old man because he was joking on Facebook.

This young man was playing a strategy game on Facebook with a woman in Germany, and suddenly he sent her a picture of him carrying a gun and told her that he would commit a massacre at a school in Malmo, and he even told her the school’s name and the time and date.

The woman in Germany called the police, who in turn investigated on the Internet and found the young man’s real name and address, they stormed his home and arrested him this afternoon.

The young man denied that he meant what he wrote on Facebook and said that he was only “joking” with the woman, but the Swedish police did not accept his explanation and charged with threatening to commit a mass murder, which a very serious charge that could lead to prison for many years.

Swedish police wrote on their website today: “It is unacceptable to joke about massacre in social media.

Several tragic school massacre have been carried out in the world and also in Sweden. Police treats these tips very seriously, and people have to think about what they post on social media.”

It is worth mentioning that there are many cases in the Swedish courts because people threatened, even as a joke, to kill or harm someone, so people need to be careful and take these things seriously.
