Three deaths due to floods and heavy rains in southwestern Germany yesterday

Torrential rain fell over large parts of central Europe resulting in severe flooding in southwestern Germany yesterday.

A 60-year-old man died in the in the city of “Weissbach” when water flooded his basement, and another man died in the city of “Weissbach” after torrential rains swept him away, and a firefighter died while trying to rescue the drowning man.

The amount of rain that fell on Sunday was more than all the amounts that fell in the past two weeks, German authorities declared a state of emergency in the south-west of Germany.

The “Braunsbach” village was one of the most affected areas, photos and footage on the social media show the flooding sweeping cars in its way, as shown in the following clip:
