The Swedish minister for secondary education, Aida Hadžialić, tendered her resignation today to the Swedish prime minister Stefan Löfven.

Aida said in her speech that she resigned because she acted irresponsibly when she drove her car from Danmark to Sweden after she had a few drinks last thursday night and she tested 0.2 bromille, which is the alkohol drinking limit in Sweden, when police stopped her at the Oresunds bridge at midnight on her way back to Malmo.

The Swedish Prime Minister, Stefan Löfven, said that he will accept the resignation of Aida with much regret, but he takes this matter seriously and such actions can not be tolerated.

Many politicians have expressed their regret at the resignation of Aida because they consider her to be one of the most promising ministers in the Swedish government, and she should not lose her post because of the alcohol reaching a level of 0.2.

It is worth mentioning that Aida drank alcohol in Denmark, where the top alkohol limit is 0.5 Bromelli and not 0.2 as in Sweden, and thus, Aida did not violate the Danish law when she started driving her car there, and she was stopped later on at the Oresund bridge just before entering Sweden, and therefore she did not violate the Swedish law yet.
