The Swedish government began yesterday implementing its decision to raise the maximum unemployment benefits “A-kassa” from 680 to 910 Swedish crowns per day.

This decision will affect all unemployment compensations on the basis of income “income related”, including the compensation for activities “Aktivitetsstödet” thru the Labor Office “Arbetsförmedlingen”.

The basic compensation “Grundersättningen” has also been raised  from 320 to 365 crowns per day.

In practice, this means an increase of about 5000 crowns per month, from a maximum of 14960 to 20020 crowns before income tax for those who get unemployment benefits “A-kassa”.

This raise is implemented automatically, the person does not need to do anything, the increase starts from week 37, the 7th of September 2015.
