Under the title “Malmo answers the call of Jerusalem,”  a large number of Palestinians, Arabs and Swedes gathered in Möllevångstorget in Malmo from 14:00 until 16:00 this afternoon, “to protest against the brutal aggression and inhumane actions by the Israeli forces against the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza and inside the 1948 borders”, according to protesters.

One protester said: “the Israeli attacks have intensified, and Israeli soldiers and police became death squads walking the streets,  killing any Palestinian, even women and children, on suspicions that they might be carrying a knife. The soldiers are normally armed to the teeth and walk only in groups, and they can easily stop anyone and search him/her, but they don’t do that, they just shoot on the spot!”

In this following clip from the Mango news YouTube channel, maybe disturbing to some, “the Israeli police shot a child from the Aida refugee camp in the West Bank, and left him to bleed to death without allowing paramedics to rescue him, while dozens of Israeli police officers were just watching him screaming in fear and pain until he died”, according to the channel.

One of the activists at the manifestation referred to this clip and wondered:  “The Israeli police claimed that this child deserved to die because he stabbed another Israeli child, and the question here is: if this claim is true, couldn’t the police arrest him to put him on trial instead of executing him in the street? And let’s assume, for argument’s sake, that the two children were Israelis and one of them stabbed the other, would the Israeli police shoot the aggressor in the street? Of course not, but this child was shot and deserved to die only because he is a Palestinian, according to the racist minds of the Israeli police who shot him and let him die without letting medics treat him and take him to hospital!”

UPDATE: Yalla Kompis has learned that Ahmad Manasra, the 13 year-old boy shown in this video, which was made by Mango News and sent to us by an anonymous reader, is NOT dead, and that he is alive and being treated in an Israeli hospital. We’ve included the photo of Ahmad below. We apologize and regret the error, and we sincerely thank our readers for their tips.

Many Swedish activists and politicians were present at the manifestation in Malmo, mainly from the Social Democratic Party and the Left Party.

Hillevi Larsson, from the ruling Social Democratic Party, gave a strong speech condemning the Israeli practices against the Palestinians, and she called on the UN and the international community to actively intervene and take serious measures to put an end to the Israeli aggression.

Protesters shouted in support of the Palestinian resistance, as they see it as “the only way to liberate Palestine after all peace talks failed, and the Israeli continuation of the aggression on the Palestinians with all the brutality and violence through killing, imprisonment, destruction of property and theft of land, and after Israel has turned it’s back against all international agreements signed with the Palestinians”, said one protester.
