The five permanent member states of the Security Council have agreed on a peace plan resolution in Syria a short while ago.

In order to be adopted, the resolution must be approved by 10 of the 15 countries in the Security Council without the Vito of any of the five permanent member states: the United States, Russia, Britain, France and China.

The five permanent member states agreed on the draft resolution, and talks are being held to secure the approval of at least five other non-permanent member states of the Security Council, which will not be difficult and the resolution will certainly be adopted.

The most important points in the resolution is the immediate stop of the targeting of civilians and the start of negotiations between the opposition and the Syrian regime to reach a cease-fire agreement in order to achieve peaceful transition of power by the Syrian people.
