Vallentuna

It seems that the need to assign security personnel guarding the refugee housings, especially for unaccompanied refugee children, is increasing and becomes more urgent and more important every day.

On 25 January, a young employee in the Mölndal housing for unaccompanied refugee children, Alexandra Mizher – 22 years, was murdered, “Read her story here”.

At eight o’clock this evening, a fight broke out in housing for unaccompanied refugee children in Vallentuna, north of the Swedish capital Stockholm.

Sven-Erik Olsson, of the Stockholm police, said the staff started feeling insecure because of the quarrel that became violent, so they locked themselves in a room and called the police.

When the police came the fight was over without injuries, and the staff went out when they felt safe.

This incident reflects the tension felt by workers in refugee housings because of the repeated quarrel and fights that erupts among refugees, and then the employees find themselves in the middle, trying to calm things down, jeopardizing their own security and safety.

Therefore, the Swedish government and police are urged to quickly increase security in refugee housing, to maintain the safety of the staff and refugees alike.
