Ulrika Årehed Kågström, Secretary General of the Swedish Red Cross, said the organization has strongly criticized the government’s proposal regarding not granting permanent residency to asylum seekers, especially children, which eliminates the possibility of family reunification.

Kågström confirmed that this government’s proposal is hasty and has not been studied well, and it has not been evaluated for future consequences, and it goes against the principles of Sweden and its human rights obligations.
