The Corona virus is spreading rapidly throughout the world, hundreds of thousands of people are infected and thousands have died, but there are very important measures that can be taken to protect ourselves and our society from getting infected.

The Corona virus is transmitted when an infected person sneezes or coughs into the air spreading small droplets containing the virus that can be breathed in by other people or land on surfaces that they touch and then touch their face, eyes, nose or mouth.

The Swedish government have decided to ban all public gatherings for more than 500 persons, and they also cancelled Karensdag (the first sick day which you don’t get compensated for) when you report your sick leave to encourage people who feel sick to stay home and not to come to work and risk infect others.

There is no need to panic because although the virus spreads fast it is not deadly for most people, the people that are in high risk are the elderly, those with chronical diseases and those with breathing problems.

Here are 6 important tips to protect yourself and prevent spreading the disease:

1- Frequently wash your hands with soap and water or use a sanitizer gel

2- Use disposable tissues when sneezing and coughing

3- Immediately throw away used tissues and thoroughly wash your hands or sanitize them

4- If you don’t have a tissue sneeze or cough in your sleeve

5- Do not touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands

6- Avoid close contact with people who are sick

We hope that everyone will take the appropiate measures to help protect ourselves and contain this pandemic, and we wish good health to all.
